Burak Ersoy, owner of BRK Makina, tells us how the partnership with GDA has transformed the Turkish company’s commercial strategy, highlighting the quality and innovation of circular saw blades produced in Italy.

The collaboration, born from a meeting at the Woodtech exhibition, promises sustainable growth and the strengthening of both companies’ position in the cutting tool market.

Could you give a brief description of your activity?

As BRK Makina, we have been manufacturing and selling machine tools, milling inserts and cutting tools since 2009. The family-run company was named after the initials of my family members, explains Burak Ersoy, owner of BRK Makina in Antalya – Turkey.

Over the years, we have managed to form a team with the right people in the right roles, creating a working environment that reflects our family spirit.

As far as special tools and inserts are concerned, these are custom-designed and produced at short notice.

Our company is renowned for its ability to develop innovative products, quality of service and our customer-oriented approach.

Customer satisfaction and our reliability in the industry have enabled us to establish a solid position in the market.

We represent major European brands in Turkey to maintain an up-to-date and reliable product range, allowing us to keep pace with industry developments and to continuously expand our sales and service expertise and experience.

Can you tell us more about how your cooperation with GDA started?

Our cooperation with GDA started with a visit of Nicola Pedrotti, GDA’s New Business Developer, at the Woodtech exhibition last October.

We were immediately in tune and satisfied with each other’s work projects. We were pleasantly impressed by the spontaneity and friendliness of the communication with him.

Both companies were at an ideal moment to start a collaboration, which we are sure will progress and grow positively in the years to come.

What were the factors that led you to choose GDA as your partner?

We chose to collaborate with GDA because of the trust we have always had in the Italian quality of the blades they have been producing for over 40 years. Some of BRK’s current employees had already had positive experiences with GDA in the past, which reinforced our decision.

My visit to GDA’s headquarters in December 2023 was decisive: I was able to get a first-hand insight into the company’s philosophy, technical and production knowledge, as well as see the progress of the new 7,000 square metre factory that will be operational by 2024 and early 2025.

I appreciated the future plans and strategies we will share in the coming months. With mutual commitment and the support of GDA, we are confident that we will meet our customers’ needs and, with a bit of luck, exceed their expectations.

How do the quality and innovation of GDA’s blades stand out in the market and how do you think they will meet the needs of your customers?

GDA’s blades represent the innovation and quality excellence of Italian products in the wood, panel and aluminium cutting tool sector in Turkey. By strengthening our after-sales services, we anticipate a growing interest in BRK Makina and, consequently, in the brands we represent.

How does the GDA product range meet the specific needs of the Turkish market?

GDA blades are in great demand in Turkey, where product quality and performance are becoming increasingly important. The high reliability and durability of these products are key features for our customers.

Moreover, thanks to our company and personal profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, we are always reachable and can effectively promote ourselves in the market, improving our visibility and interaction with current and potential customers.

In addition to wholesale sales, we also offer the GDA brand on our e-commerce site, where we are receiving very positive feedback from the market.

Can you give us an example of how GDA products meet or exceed your customers’ expectations?

A significant example concerns a customer who needed high-precision blades for a complex furniture production. Thanks to the superior quality of GDA blades and our ability to deliver orders quickly, the customer was able to improve its production efficiency and reduce downtime.

The special services offered by GDA, such as technical advice, fast delivery, after-sales support and safe packaging, helped to exceed the customer’s expectations and ensured a long-lasting and fruitful partnership.

How has the collaboration with GDA improved or changed your business strategy?

The collaboration with GDA has increased our customer potential and improved our pre- and after-sales service. We aim to maintain our successful results with a turnover increase of more than 50 per cent and further increase our growth.

The quality of GDA’s products and technical sales support have enabled us to adopt a more aggressive strategy and expand into new market segments.

Besides GDA’s products, what do you value most (e.g. after-sales services, deliveries, technical and commercial advice, etc.)?

We particularly appreciate GDA’s after-sales services, clear and fast deliveries and constant communication. These aspects allow us to offer a comprehensive and high-quality service to our customers, strengthening our reputation in the market.

Finally, what are your plans for future cooperation with GDA and how do you think this cooperation will develop over time?

As BRK MAKÄ°NA, believing in the strength of domestic production and the potential of Turkey, we aim to maintain our leadership in the industry and represent our country worldwide in the field of furniture and aluminium.

We will continue to work closely with GDA to develop new innovative products and constantly improve our services, ensuring sustainable growth and mutual success.
